60m Tubular Wind Measurement Masts (2x) + TRITON SODAR RSD
ProfEC Ventus offers a bundle including two 60m tubular wind measurement masts and a SODAR RSD device, (Vaisala TRITON Wind Profiler), perfectly matching for wind resource assessments and power performance measurements by combining a small measurement mast with a SODAR RSD to extrapolate the wind measurement time series collected by the measurement mast.
Characteristics of the 60m Tubular Wind Measurement Mast:
• Highly versatile meteorological mast with strong durability and extreme weather survival and strong steel tube construction
• With reinforced steel base plate, no concrete foundation required for most ground conditions
• 5x side booms for side sensor mounting: 2.2m long
• 1x top boom for top sensor installation: 1m long
• guy wires
• ground anchors
• gin pole / lift pole / aux. mast
Please see a representative tower installation manual attached in the Document section.
Characteristics of the TRITON Wind Profiler (a Vaisala - SECONDWIND device):
• Measures up to 10 customizable heights between 40m to 200m above ground level
• Wind speed measurement range 0...40m/s
• Measures accurately at a bankable level horizontal wind speed, wind direction, flow inclination and turbulence intensity
• Classification and operational standard uncertainty acc. to IEC 61400-12-1 Ed.2 (03-2017)
• Includes TRITON extended power supply (180Wp PV & 464 Ah battery capacity) for about 30 days device operation without battery charging
• Includes TRITON ice and snow removal package and features
• Precise derivation of wind veer and wind shear
• Measures temperature, relative humidity and barometric pressure at Vaisala device quality
• Very low mean deviation of the measurements of the horizontal wind speed component between Triton and a specific reference cup anemometer in flat terrain (between 0.0 m/s and ~0.1 m/s in the different measurement heights)
• Low power consumption (7W only)
• Data access and monitoring via web portal
• Ease of deployment: installed and collecting data within 2 hours
• > 98% average operational uptime
• Stands up to harsh climates; works down to −40°C (−40°F) ... 65°C (149°F) at 0 ... 100% rel. humidiy
• Improved accuracy in complex terrain: CFD correction factors (Flow Complexity Recognition / FCR) reduce the dataset-wide difference in mean wind speed measured by Triton and met masts from approx. 2.4% to as low as 0.1%, enabling bankability even in complex terrain (optional)
• Yielding a standard uncertainty as low as ~2.3% for complex terrain and ~1.3% for flat terrain
